  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
  • water, as needed

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: Add soy sauce, peanut butter, lime juice, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic powder, ground ginger, cayenne pepper, and a couple pinches of fresh cracked black pepper into a large measuring cup or bowl.
  2. Whisk mixture: Whisk vigorously until the sauce is well combined, smooth, and creamy with no lumps remaining.
  3. Adjust consistency: Gradually add water a little at a time, whisking until you reach your desired sauce consistency—thicker for dipping or thinner for drizzling.
  4. Serve and enjoy: Pour the peanut sauce over your favorite dishes or use it as a dip. Serve immediately for best flavor.

Notes

  • Use creamy peanut butter for a smooth sauce texture.
  • Adjust the cayenne pepper amount to control spiciness.
  • For gluten-free version, use tamari or gluten-free soy sauce.
  • This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Add a splash of warm water if the sauce thickens after refrigeration.
