Ingredients

Units Scale

Salmon

  • 4 (6-oz.) salmon fillets
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 Tbsp. butter

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Season and grill salmon. Season the salmon fillets generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the salmon fillets flesh side down on the grill and cook for 8 minutes. Flip the salmon and continue grilling for another 6 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through. Remove from heat and let the salmon rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  2. Prepare cilantro lime sauce. While the salmon rests, heat a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the butter, lime juice, honey, and minced garlic to the pan. Stir continuously until the butter is completely melted and all ingredients are well combined. Turn off the heat and stir in the chopped cilantro to finish the sauce.
  3. Serve. Pour the warm cilantro lime sauce evenly over the grilled salmon fillets. Serve immediately for a fresh and flavorful dish.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor in the sauce.
  • You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can cook the salmon in a grill pan or broil it in the oven.
  • Letting the salmon rest after grilling helps retain moisture and enhance flavor.
  • Adjust salt and pepper to taste depending on your preference.
