Ingredients

Units Scale

Cinnamon Sugar:

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Cheesecake Bars:

  • Two 8-ounce packages refrigerated crescent roll dough or sheets
  • 16 ounces full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar together until well combined, then set aside for later use.
  2. Preheat and Prep Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and position the rack in the middle. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and sprinkle 1 to 2 tablespoons of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on the bottom to add flavor and prevent sticking.
  3. Create Base Layer: Open one tube of crescent roll dough and unroll it carefully. Press the seams together to form a single rectangular sheet, then place this sheet into the prepared pan, making sure it covers the bottom completely.
  4. Make Cheesecake Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Pour this cheesecake filling evenly over the base layer in the baking pan.
  5. Top Layer and Butter Coating: Open the second tube of crescent roll dough, unroll it, and seal the seams to form another rectangle. Gently place this dough over the cheesecake filling as the top layer. Pour melted butter over the top layer and spread it evenly with a spoon or pastry brush to ensure a golden crust.
  6. Add Cinnamon Sugar Topping: Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture generously over the buttered top layer to create a sweet and aromatic finish.
  7. Bake to Perfection: Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 26 to 30 minutes or until the crescent dough puffs up and turns golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool on a wire rack.
  8. Chill and Serve: Once the bars have cooled to room temperature, refrigerate them for at least 3 hours. This chilling time helps the layers set properly. Finally, slice into 16 bars before serving and enjoy.

Notes

  • Be sure to seal the seams of the crescent dough to prevent leakage of the cheesecake filling during baking.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese for the best creamy texture and flavor.
  • Chilling the bars is essential to achieve clean slices and proper consistency.
  • You can store leftover bars covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a dairy-free option, consider cream cheese alternatives and dairy-free butter, though texture may vary.
