Ingredients

Units Scale

Breading

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 Tbsp. everything bagel seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp. black and/or white sesame seeds

Main

  • 2 large, just ripe avocados, halved, pitted, peeled, and sliced 1/2" thick
  • Olive oil cooking spray

Dipping Sauce

  • 2 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. (or more) water
  • lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare Breading: Pour the flour into a shallow bowl. In a separate shallow bowl, beat the eggs until blended. In a third shallow bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, everything bagel seasoning, and sesame seeds.
  2. Bread Avocado Slices: Dip each avocado slice first into the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip into the beaten eggs. Finally, coat the slices in the panko mixture, gently pressing to help it adhere. Place the coated avocado slices on a plate.
  3. Air Fry Avocado Fries: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil cooking spray. Arrange the avocado slices in a single layer in the basket, spacing them about 1/4 inch apart. Lightly spray the avocado slices with cooking spray. Cook at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying again. Clean out any breading residue from the basket between batches to ensure even cooking.
  4. Prepare Cream Cheese Drizzle: In a small heatproof bowl, microwave the cream cheese on high for about 30 seconds until melted and smooth. Stir in water to achieve a drizzleable consistency, adding more water if needed.
  5. Serve: Drizzle the crispy avocado fries with the melted cream cheese sauce and serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over.

Notes

  • Choose ripe but firm avocados to ensure slices hold shape while frying.
  • Use olive oil cooking spray to keep fries crispy without added fat.
  • For an extra spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the panko mixture.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the avocado fries in a 400°F oven for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Leftover fries are best eaten immediately as the breading can become soggy over time.
